A casual walk to the Annual medical check-up, lands up with a surprise of ‘High Cholestrol level’ – wondering if the results were accurate and could this happen to someone who is just 64 kgs and jogging routinely.

Shared this with my wife and without informing me she booked an appointment with Meenu (one of the few right things she did ). The thought of going to dietician irritated me with images of boiled food and leaf vegetables and recommendation on life style changes that might be difficult to follow.

Cut 2 – I was with Meenu in her office explaining about my routines and eating habits – turns out beside my active exercising routine the choices of my food and Eating patterns were quite unhealthy and erratic to say the least. Started a 3-month program with her which included changes to my palate and eating pattern – over the period of 3 months went thru 3 different diet routines given by her. This had an immediate impact – within first few weeks, my weight came down further and at the same time I was feeling quite active and healthy. The best part was the choices of food given were something which I can easily follow repeatedly. Over the period of 3 months, eating consciously and healthy food (does not mean salads all the time) became a happy habit. The Lipid profile results were excellent and back to a very healthy state.

My journey with Meenu Ma’am began at a totally unexpected note when my wife surprised me by scheduling a meeting with her. Here I was meeting a nutritionist for the very first time thinking I’ll be put on a series of cant-eat-this, workout for hours in the gym, don’t go for social outings etc. but to my surprise, she told me I could eat everything, as long as I ate with wisdom and in moderation. So yes, now I can also say that one can lose weight, get healthier and yet can still lead a normal life and have all the fun!

I had always been on the leaner side but due to work schedule and life style, I had a sudden weight gain and no matter how much I tried to control it in addition to the high intensity workouts 5 days a week, the graph just went upwards. Meenu this was long overdue;);).. my experience of following your diet plan for 3 months helped me reach my target weight , I lost 5 kgs and a further 2 kg more even after completing the diet session. I always believed that my bootcamp or hardcore cardio could help me lose weight but that did not help much. With your diet plan many eating habits have been corrected –
a) i have drastically dropped sugar from food, except sugar that i consume in fruits, this life style change has greatly helped me in stabilising my new weight.
b) i now choose sensibly, both what to eat daily and when i am travelling and how i can balance the excess with cardio or exercises the next day.
Most of all what i have loved about you is your time and concern for answering queries, especially when i was anxious about weight loss and you explained the role of hormones in this. Plus you’ve always been there helping me with diet suggestions for recurring ailments, even after my session got over with you.
